The requirements in small and compact packaging machines are constantly increasing and the realisation is difficult or impossible due to cost pressure. Innovative ideas are slowed down by economic issues. With the StarterSET compact, SEW-EURODRIVE offers an attractive and economical solution without any loss of performance.
The StarterSET compact includes two compact inverters, two gearmotors, a controller with pre-selected, bundled automation software based on the standardised MOVI-C® modular automation system. This compact modular system leaves plenty of room for manoeuvre in terms of machine design: The StarterSET compact 514 for vertical filling and sealing machines (VFFS) contains all the necessary automation components (hardware and software) for the basic ‘flow-wrapping machine’ application. With this approach, SEW-EURODRIVE is moving away from classic automation project planning. Thinking backwards from the machine, the required components are pre-engineered based on the target machine and the StarterSET is offered as a basic package.
The StarterSET compact focuses on cost-effectiveness and therefore includes the compact MOVITRAC® advanced inverter with MOVILINK® DDI digital motor interface with single-cable technology. In addition to the harmonised hardware components, a comprehensive software package (MOVIKIT® bundle) is also available, which includes all the necessary functions for the respective application to reduce costs. With this licence model, users can decide freely and flexibly whether they want to implement their functions drive-related or as a central motion controller. Extensive and versatile PackML-compliant programming templates with front-end content are available for this purpose. The solution package is rounded off with standardised communication interfaces such as OPC-UA, Profinet, EtherNET/IP and web visualisation.
The StarterSET compact can be extensively adapted thanks to SEW-EURODRIVE's broad product portfolio and customised with all its advantages as a package for small and compact machines with up to six axes. Areas of application include case erectors, case packers, gantry and portal systems, cutting machines and flow-wrapping machines (FFS).
